This course aims to fully prepare an individual to give Reiki treatments to members of the general public in a professional setting.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is natural healing technique which reinforces the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki energy balances, heals and harmonises the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It is one of the gentlest and most effective yet powerful techniques available. Reiki can support and enhance other forms of treatment and is a tradition which is open to any belief system.
For those who wish to work with members of the general public and have already completed Reiki First Degree course with me, this part-time course encompasses the specific requirements of professional practice as laid down in the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Reiki and the Reiki Council’s Core Curriculum. The course prepares the Reiki student to become a Professional Reiki Practitioner, giving a proficient Reiki treatment safely, confidently and competently to members of the general public.
Following Reiki First Degree course taken earlier, during the Professional Reiki Practitioner Course you will receive:
- 1 Second Degree in-person attunements to Reiki energy
- Tuition in how to provide Reiki in a professional practice, safely and effectively, to members of the general public, meeting the requirements of the Reiki Council’s Core Curriculum and the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Reiki
- 3 Sacred symbols with their names and uses (including the Distant Healing symbol)
- Demonstrations of all techniques and Practical Sessions
There will be 65 hours in-person tuition (including Reiki First Degree taken separately) over a minimum of a 9 month period. Students are also required to give a minimum of 75 full treatments to others in person, which will be recorded. Five of these treatments will be supervised by someone occupationally competent in Reiki. In recognition of the importance of self-treatments to maintain well-being, students must record a minimum of 100 hours of self-treatment (commencing after their Reiki 1 attunements). Assessment work is also required. The total study hours are 245, comprising 65 hours in-person training, 100 hours of self-treatment or receiving Reiki from others, assessments and a minimum of 95 hours guided distant study (including 75 full treatments of others). The student must complete and submit all practical coursework and assessments within 1 year of the last in-person training day to obtain their qualification.
